The difference between life coaches and therapist

Therapists are licensed professionals working in the mental health field. Therapists are licensed to give diagnosis to clients for mental health. They teach coping skills and develop goals with clients to reach desired outcomes. Therapists study behavior, provide assessments, conduct testing, study emotions and why we react the way we do in order to learn more about the person and correct maladaptive coping skills.

Life coaches are not licensed practitioners. However, they work with clients to achieve and set goals. Coaches identify problematic behavior that is hindering the client from making healthier life choices. Coaching is short term. Coaches work with you to reach goals in personal and occupational fields. Coaches inspires clients to maximize personal and professional potential.
